The site is perfectly accessible: you can get to it easily by car because of its location along the expressway connecting Bruges to the E403 and E40 motorways. The railway station is just five minutes by bike while riding into the city centre takes a mere 15 minutes.
Unique cooperation with VIVES
The cornerstone of this project is the long-term cooperation with the VIVES University of Applied Sciences, for whom ION built The Crown. In keeping with the Build to Suit principle, ION served as a one-stop shop, taking care of everything, from the design and application for planning permission to the construction of the development, which was completely tailored to the needs of the VIVES University of Applied Sciences.

An ambitious property built in under 500 days
We made the choice from the outset to create an ambitious project, with bold architectural choices - the building’s distinctive round shape repeatedly posed challenges for the entire team - and working to a tight schedule, requiring an extremely rigorous construction process. The Crown took less than 500 days to build, from laying the foundation stone to the building’s commissioning, a considerable achievement for a project of this scope.
