1. ION GROUP COOKIES

Whenever you visit our website, we collect information by automated means through the use of cookies.

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your browser, your computer or your mobile device. The website stores the cookies on your device in order to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information, so that your device is recognised when you revisit the website. Cookies can have different purposes: ensuring that the website takes account of your preferences by, for example, remembering certain preferences, collecting statistical data, adapting content, etc.

2. WHAT COOKIES ARE USED ON THE ION GROUP WEBSITE?

We use first-party cookies as well as third-party cookies, session cookies and permanent cookies:

  • First-party cookies are cookies installed by the ION Group itself on its website.
  • Third-party cookies are cookies installed by other parties (i.e. cookies from a domain different than the domain of the website you are visiting, e.g. Google Analytics cookies).
  • Session cookies are deleted after the user closes the browser.
  • Permanent cookies remain on the user’s device for a certain period of time.

Below you will find an overview of the cookies used by the ION Group.

These cookies are placed directly on your browser on the basis of our legitimate interest to offer you a website that functions properly and safely. You can set your browser to block these cookies or alert you about these cookies, but, in that case, some parts of the website will not function properly. You can deactivate these cookies by changing your browser preferences.

You can deactivate these cookies by changing your browser preferences.

Analytical cookies (non-essential cookies)

Analytical cookies provide us with information about the use of our website and enable us to optimize our website. Analytical cookies collect information about your visit to and use of the website, for example to know the number of pages visited or the number of users who have viewed a particular page. allow us to count visitors and trace their origin so that we can analyze and improve the performance of our website. These cookies provide us with information about how our website is used and help us to optimize our website. They help us understand which pages are the most and least popular and how visitors move throughout the site. These cookies do not collect information that directly identifies a user. (Social) "Sharing cookies (non-essential cookies)

We use social sharing cookies from LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and other similar social media sites to enable you to share content from our websites that interests you with other people on social networks. We may serve targeted advertisements on these networks based on your interaction with our websites. These cookies are placed on our website via hyperlinks, social plugins or links to social media operators. When you use these share buttons, a third party cookie is installed (see also “third party cookies” below).

Social plug-ins establish a connection to the servers of the operators of social networks. With the next click you will be sent to the relevant social media page of the ION group or one of its affiliated companies.

Your data will be passed on to the operator of the respective social network. The ION group allows the collection of the data by setting the social plug-in on its website, but has no influence on what data or the amount of data the social network collects using the social plug-in. The social networks receive information such as which of our websites you have visited at that time and before. A cookie with a unique identifier is placed via the social plugin each time the website in question is visited. This enables the social network to create a profile of your usage behaviour. It is possible that such a profile will be assigned to you in the event of a later first registration with the social network, but the ION group will not have access to this profile.

If you are already registered with a social network during your visit to our websites, the operator of that social network can assign the visit to your personal account via the social plug-ins. When using functions of the social plug-ins (e.g. "Like" button, "Tweets", leave comments ...) the information about this use is transmitted directly from your browser to the respective social network and there stored. The same applies if you call up a website of a social media provider by clicking on the corresponding symbol button.

If you are not a member of a social network, it is still possible that the social networks receive and store your IP address and information about the browser and operating system you use via the social plug-ins.
